SailAMX
2015 - 2019
Project:
SailAMX - Staff Facing
Role:
I am the sole Product Designer of SailAMX. I collaborate with a Product Manager and the Development Team to research, scope, plan and execute.
Description:
This project is currently underway and is not complete. I’m working on creating a design system, UX flows and repeatable UI patterns for a web based management application. The project will be updated with more relevant details upon completion.
The Overall Challenge
To make associations more effective by increasing memberships and event registrations.
Other Challenges
The Attendance Tracking feature to The User Merge tool
With over 120 features, things can get complicated for both staff users and association members. Finding the right tool can be daunting.
Generation Gap
Millennials are dissatisfied with current available solutions and want online access to tools, learning and documentation. The previous generation is satisfied with offline solutions.
Onboarding Issues
Both user groups are used to fairly archaic interfaces and are resistant to more contemporary UIs and flows.
Associations Popularity
Association membership is in decline not only because there are fewer and fewer accountants but also because associations are stuck in the past.
The Approach
Many of the associations that will use SailAMX are coming from an antiquated technical world. Whether this means they have servers in the closet or the UI/UX of their websites is outdated, SailAMX brings our clients technology into the modern era.
The Nitty-Gritty
✅Use well-established design patterns and user flows
✅Update the design aesthetic
✅Create well written documentation & a wealth of how-to videos
